Keiran has a passion for our beautiful Australian landscape and its people... and a keen interest in photography, art and website design. A resident of Yulara (Central Australia) for many years, Keiran has worked closely with the Anangu people of the Uluru and surrounding desert region. He has been learning the Pitjantjatjara language for a few years and has previously worked as an Interpreter for Anangu Tours (an Aboriginal owned Tour Company at Uluru).
Born in Brisbane, Queensland, Keiran grew up with a strong interest in creative and artistic pursuits. However, his study and career options did not include any thoughts for art at the completion of school. Following a rather unsuccessful career in banking, Keiran took up driving buses in the city of Brisbane. This lead to a wonderful job on Fraser Island driving 4WD tour buses. From the beauty of Fraser Island, Keiran made his way to Uluru in 2000 and began work with AAT Kings.
A brief stint back in Queensland allowed Keiran to purchase an old school bus, which he converted into a beautiful house on wheels called 'Alice the Bus'. Strong interest in the project from family and friends lead to the development of his first website - The Alice Project. During this time, Keiran also finally completed a university degree in Environmental Science (Environmental and Social Policy) which he had started many years earlier. Keiran returned to Uluru in 'Alice the Bus' and worked for various organisations including Tech Services (Voyages), Anangu Tours, Desert Tracks and AAT Kings once again. In 2006, Keiran finally gained employment as a Ranger in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
Keiran still keeps 'Alice the Bus' at Yulara (the resort township near Uluru), but now lives in a more comfortable house in the National Park, which he shares with his two naughty little puppies - Ninti and Kana. In his spare time, Keiran enjoys the creative outlets of art and photography, and spends far too much time building websites and surfing the net. He also spends far too much time dreaming up new ways to work for himself and become his own boss...
[Keiran still has to go to work for a living... but, just quietly, sometimes actually enjoys his work just a little...]
